Research demonstrates that if a child is not meeting key developmental stages at 5 years old, their prospects for thriving in teen and adulthood are significantly compromised. Partnering with local authorities, statutory services, parents and carers, and many more in the community, Thrive at Five build local capacity to support every child to reach a good level of development at age five. Having developed and tested their model in Stoke-on-Trent, they are now collaborating with locals in Redcar, operating as the much needed “glue” between services, experts, and organisations, helping to strengthen networks of support around children and families from pregnancy to the end of the first year at school.
The Symondson Foundation has committed to three years of unrestricted funding to support Thrive at Five in testing and refining their model across under-served communities in the UK, ensuring that every child reaches their potential.
