Rosa is a women-led grant-maker, giving to and supporting women and girls’ charities across the UK. They only give to charities run by women for women and girls. Research has demonstrated that the women and girls’ sector in the UK is woefully underfunded. In 2021, a total of £4.1 billion worth of grants was awarded to charities, but the women and girls sector received just 1.8%. Rosa champions and nurtures the potential of grassroots organisations to tackle some of the most entrenched, complex issues facing women and girls in the UK today.
The Symondson Foundation has committed to three years of unrestricted funding to help facilitate Rosa in its mission to overcome the chronic underfunding of charities that focus on issues affecting women and girls.
