This not-for-profit club was established in 2018 by two professional tennis players, Jon and Lisa Wildman, whose ambition was to create an inclusive environment for young people to learn and play tennis. Based in Hertfordshire, they recognised that there was little to no provision of sport for disabled children and children with special educational needs. As well as providing free and paid-for tennis programmes on their two sites, they partner with schools with particular need, offering outreach programmes during term-time and holiday programmes. Harnessing the power of tennis for growing in confidence and learning to work together, they are steadily building a welcoming community that champions all backgrounds and abilities.
The Symondson Foundation has committed to unrestricted, multi-year funding, helping GS4T continue on their journey to becoming national leaders in inclusive tennis, and the first disability academy in the UK.
